Keypad entry door security alarms are highly reliable and versatile security alarm. Usually, these alarms are easily installed on the door with a magnet assembly, which is mounted on the frame. The magnet assembly is used to detect whether the door is closed or open. If the door is closed, a proximity sensor detects the magnet but when it is opened the sensor recognizes the change and activates an alarm. This operation could only be disabled or switched off by entering the correct code on the main unit`s keypad.
In addition, these devices have other features, like `chime` to indicate the entry of visitors; an instant alarm which sends signal asking the user for the permit of visitor inside the desired place, and delay set for an authorized user to enter and leave by the protected door. The operation of this device is similar to entry/exit time delay seen in the well-known intruder alarm control panel. Besides these, the sounder output can also be used to drive extension sirens.
