Design
Passive infrared security camera systems are enclosed in a reinforced enclosure with a PIR detector and associated circuitry. In the main, PIR security cameras are in robust weatherproof housings which are designed to withstand any attack; they also should have LEDs for walk test and film exposure practices.
Applications
PIR cameras have high immunity to false alarms, which makes it ideal for use in domestic, commercial and industrial applications. Also since the camera is armed remotely, it is capable of photographing any intruder entering a detection zone. In other applications the camera may be trigged by an external signal from a recognized sensing device such as a PIR, ultrasonic microwave or capacitance detector.
