Product Reviews of Electric Strikes
Electric strikes are the most common type of locking device used by intercom systems. The strikes are available in fail safe or fail secure type in a variety of voltage ratings. In addition, they are more reliable and a good replacement for mechanical locks.

Structure
Electric strike is fitted in the frame on the surface or concealed. For inward or outward opening doors, an electric strike is available. The strike has an integral pocket that collapses or rotates, enabling the bolt or latch of the door to be freed or escape from the keeper pocket during operation.

The electric strike can accommodate either latch bolts or deadbolts. The latch bolt is a spring-loaded bevelled latch that slides over the keeper pocket when the door shuts and then springs back to a locking position. The deadbolt is not bevelled so the latch is always either protruding or retracted.
