Product Reviews of Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a gas that cannot be seen or tasted. Thus, it is not possible for human senses to detect it. Hence in case of leakage from any appliance that uses gas, coal or oil, there are chances of small to irrecoverable damages, i.e. human death. In order to avoid such disasters, carbon monoxide detectors could be used.

The carbon monoxide detectors could be connected to an existing security system. Basically, there are three different types of carbon monoxide detectors available, which are as follows:
1. Semiconductor detectors: At different temperatures, the semiconductor version measures levels of CO
2. Gel cell: The gel cell is made of a porous material which darkens when CO is present
3. Electrochemical cell: The electrochemical cell works by electrochemically oxidizing the CO to form carbon dioxide and is generally considered the most reliable.

Precautions
Carbon monoxide detectors should be installed in the room at a height of five feet above floor level where cooking or heating appliance is used.
